SMALL FARM SETTLEMENT.
{To ths-Editor of the Patea Mail.) Sir, —Clearing the delegates of the Normanby Small Farm Association were favourably received by the Taranaki Waste Lands Board on Monday last, and also hearing (winch I hope is incorrect) that the promoters of the scheme are about, if they get the block of 20,000 acres, to make an additional charge of 5s per acre above what they pay to' the Board, which means £5,000, [ hope the Board will meet the Association in the matter, and allow the land to bo settled oil at oii’ce not putting such a price on the land to prevent people taking it up. I would suggest that the Board Ist fix a price for the land; 2nd also the price it shall be retailed at; 3rd let there be xochoice for sections for either delegates or promoters, as I sec they are charging the sum of 5s to defray any preliminary expenses; 4th giving no one particular favor as regards frontage; sth that all applicants should ballot for choice of sections, putting every one on the same footing ; 6th and that every holder should be bound to settle on his block within one year from termination of survey.—l am, &c., INTENDING SETTLED.Hawera, Nov. 9, 1877.
