RESIDENT MAGISTRATES’ COURT. (Before C. A. Wray, Esq, R.M., and Captain Wilson, J.P.) Monday, October 15. CIVIL.
Thomas Qninlivan v E. Daugherton ; claim £6 3s. Judgment for plaintiff for amount. To be paid in Monthly instalments of £2 2s 10th, or in default to be imprisoned for one month, Felix McGuire vG. Brissel; claim £5 15s. Judgment by default for plaintiff for amount and costs 13s.
William Noble v J. A. Dalton; claim £5 3s, Judgment by default for amount and costs 16s.
William Aikman v Honi Pihama; claim £lB 12s 9d. Judgment for plaintiff for £ll 12s 9d and costs 19s. Several cases were settled out of Court.
CRIMINAL, Constable Croker summoned James McGregor for alleged breach of clause 39 of “ The Sale of Liquors Ordinance, 1866,” for selling tnvo cases whiskey to Sergeant Dinneen, A.C. Force. Case dismissed —costs remitted. Sergeant Cahill summoned three different pel-sons on charges of being drunk, disorderly, andfighting. The usual fines were inflicted. A native was also charged with being drunk and disorderly, and was fined £1 or 48 hours in the lock-up. Sergeant Cahill summoned R. J. Duncan for. unlawfully supplying Te Kcpa (a Native.) with fermented liquor and thereby producing intoxication. Publicans were cautioned not to supply Tc Kepa with any liquor whatever in future, in any quantity however small. Case dismissed. — Thomas Lloyd was charged with a similar offence, but the offender was cautioned and the case dismissed.
