[from a CORKESirXDEXT.] September 13. Owing to unfavourable weather very few members were present on Wednesday, otb instant. The only business was a motion by Mr Peacock, that the night of meeting be changed. Last night there was a fair attendance of members. Mr Lee was voted to the, chair. It was decided that for future the Society meet on Thursday, instead of Wednesday evenings. In Mr Peacock’s absence, Mr Dawson opened the debate by showing some claims of the horse to be considered the most generally useful animal toman. Mr Henderson seconded it, Mr John Ginger submitted that the cow was more indispensable than the horse. Mr U. Ginger seconded it. During an animated discussion the pretensions of several other animals were put forward, but on being put to the vote, the cow was declared victorious. Songs, recitations, &c., concluded the business. Next subject is to be a lecture on “ Coal” by Mr Lee.
