Mr W. Dale will sell, this day, kauri timber, fruit trees, &c. Sale at 1 o’clock. At Hawera, to-day, Mr W. Cowern will offer for sale, 32 Buildiug Sites, and a largo assortment of general merchandise. She to commence at noon.
A meeting was held on Tuesday evening last, at the Australasian Hotel, to consider the advisability of getting up an entertainment for the benefit of Mrs Fislq It was decided that a Christy Minstrel performance should be given, and a number of lho old Star Minstrels, and several new arrivals, have signilie.fi their willingness u> pi ay on the occasion. Wo understand that the entertainment is likely to take place in about three week’s time, so as to have the benefit of the moon. The first practice will take place this evening, the Council Chamber.-;. A Temperance Conference, for which over 200 invitations have been issued, will be held in Wanganui on Monday evening next.
