The Chronicle referring to tiie Queen’s Birthday race meeting, says :—Notwithstanding the inclement state of the weather on the previous days, a large concourse of spectators assembled to witness the races run over the Wanganui Jockey Club Steeplechase course, and though there was a general tameness throughout, yet the meeting passed off very satisfactorily.
