THE DOG TAX.

(To the Editor of the Patea Mail.)

Sin, —I notice by advertisement in your last issue, that Mr J. Black is calling in the Dog Tax, which is to be paid within a mouth from date of notice.

Being in the dark on the subject, I wish you, or some one else, would inform me at what date the “ Dogs’ ” financial year commences, as it seems but a short time since I paid a year’s tax. I don’t think I was behindhand in payment either, as I paid the first time I was asked for it. Hoping you will be able to give the required information, as necessary to many others as nn'self.—l remain, yours, &c., SETTLER. Note —According to the Ordnances, the tax is due from Ist January.—Ed. Mail.
