THOSE POSTS.
(to tile editor dtr the patea maid.) Sir, —It is now a considerable time since Mr McGuire’s store was burnt down, and yet two large posts, still stand out on the footpath, which are very dangerous to passers-by at night. I myself have cannoned against them several times, and came very near losing my front teetli the other night, so I thought it high time to enquire into the matter. What I Want to know is—whose place is it to see that they are removed V Is not that our Town Board’s duty ? It strikes me very forcibly that they are not acting up to their pledge, in looking after the interests of the people of Carlyle, for if those posts remain there much longer, some serious accident might happen, and there is no doubt some one will have to pay for it (not the sufferer) . 1 hope- these few lines will have the desired effect, and I trust the posts will be removed very speedily.—l am, <tc., VICTIM
