SINGAPORE. August 30. , On the 19th of August the Montenegrins defeated the Turks, at Rutchi. This report has been confirmed and the Turks have suffered great loss. They had no artillery available during the engagement. August 25. Servians and Turks were fighting before Alexinstz. The result was undecisive. Russian volunteer officers and soldiers arc joining the Servians with permission of Russia. Prince Milan has summoned the Consullar body to his palace for the purpose of bringing about joint mediation by the great Powers. In the meantime an armistice has been agreed on. A financial crisis has occurred in Portugal. The Banks suspended payment. The blockade of Dahomey continues. The King is still defiant and threatens to massacre the Europeans in Ins-territory.
