The new Coroner’s Bill proposes that every Resident Magistrate shall be a coroner, and that a limber of jurors at an inquest is' iiot v to - exceed seven, but in special cases the jury may consist of four. lilToulcr it'bcTimpossible to obtain a jury, power isj given to do without-;, in which case the coroner is to explain the reasons. The fees for holding inquests are to be abolished. The 'Minister of Justice, in moving' the Bill, pointed out the particular objections to coroners being medical-men.
