ORIGINAL CORRESPONDENCE.
[We arc at all times ready to give expression to every shade of opinion, hut in no ease do we hold ourselves responsible for the sentiments of our correspondents.] (to THE EDITOR OF THE PATE A MAIL.) Silt.—Another of those lively little scenes which have so often happened during the la&tfew months in our Temple of Justice, occurred on Friday morning last, when a small disputed debt case came on for hearing, in which the defendant in his calmer moment had confessed judgment for the amount, but our worth}' R.M. wants a week to consider whether the cost of stunmons for witnesses, &c., ought to bo paid by the plaintiff or defendant. No doubt, after fully consulting all our local authorities, including the Attorney-General, bo will then be in a position to give a decision. This very fine and technical point. I refrain from making any further comments o’n this matter, as the hearing of this lively little farce has to come on the Boards again, when all lovers of fun should attend to see the second act in two parts. As our II a.m. o’clock performances are getting veiy entertaining, and as it is free admission, I trust to see as large a number of spectators as can conveniently attend, as it is very, likely to be the last entertainment for the season. Yours &e., PRO BONO PUBLICO.
