PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of (lie above Board was held on Monday, March 13th. Present —Messrs E. I|. Morgan (Chairman), Hunter, Cano, and Christie. The minutes of the last meeting were read and continued. A letter was read fioni the Provincial Treasurer, acknowledging receipt oi letter from the Board, with reference to amount; of Government grant forwarded, stating that the Government had granted 13s 4d in the pound,' on the exact amount of rates received into the Troasu y to 3Ulh .lime, 1875,' which did not include the proportion on amount collected in Patea. Proposed by Mr limit'd, seconded by Mr Christie, " That the Chairman make a declaration before a J.P., showing the amounts of rales paid in Patea tor the year ending 30lh June, 1875, and that Major Atkinson he communicated with as representative of the district, requesting him to have the matter attended to at once.” —Carried. .. Proposed by Mr Hunter, “ Thai* the Board are veil ling to undertake the carrying out of works on Kakaramea road, provided the cost of the same is paid by subscriptions from natives and others.” Seconded by Mr Gane.”—Carried. Proposed' ny Mr Morgan, seconded by Mr Christie, “ That Messrs Gane and Hunter be empowered to expend a sum not exceeding .£lO in making a road to Mr Eohertson’s land, the timber for culverts to he found by the Board, delivered in Carlyle.”—Carried. Proposed by Mr Christie, “ That upon the Secretary receiving working plans for Kakaramea, and a guarantee for the money, he call for tenders to he sent in by next meeting.”—Carried. Resolved, that the next meeting take on the 10th April.
