PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.

A meeting of the above Board was held at the Board’s office, Carlyle, on Monday, 14th hist Present :—Messrs E. R. Morgan (Chairman), Honeyliehl, Mcßae, Christie, Wilson imd Hunter. The minutes of the last meeting wore read and confirmed. A letter was read from Mr James ♦Southby, requesting permission to place a gate on Bull Road until the fencing season commences. Proposed by Mr Christie, seconded by Mr Mcßae, “That Mr Southby be allowed lu place a proper swing gete ou Ball Read (at a spot to be pointed out by Mr Morgan), hmiccordaace with his request." —Carried. Letter; read from Mr Thomas Turner asking the Board to place a culvert on the Kakarairca road. Proposed by Mr Christie, seconded by Mr Wilson, “ That the application stand over till next meeting.”—Curried. Proposed-by Mr-Hunter, seconded by Mr Honeylield, “That the Secretary write to the Sub-Treasurer, requesting him to take legal proceedings against defaulters immediately after the 2i)th inst., as the Board require funds to pay for contracts.” Resolved, that the next meeting of the Board take place on the 13th March.
