PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD,
A meeting of the above board was held at the Albion Hotel, on Monday, the 6th inst. Present—Messrs E. 11. Morgan (chairman), G. W. Gane, Hunter, Wilson, and Christie. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from Mr W. Dale, offering a quantity of culvert timber for sale. Proposed by Mr Himtcr, seconded by Mr Wilson, and carried—-“ That tire offer be accepted for all the two inch fotara planking. Only one tender was received for works on Gane Road, which was considered too high. The time for receiving tenders was therefore extended till the next meeting of the Hoard. Proposed by Mr G. W. Gane, seconded by Mr Wilson, and carried—That Mr W. Dale be appointed Secretary to the Board, at the rate of £1 for each meeting of the Board ; all correspondence in the interim to be included. The Secretary was instructed to write to the Provincial Treasurer, asking whether any rates has ever been paid on section No. 690, Patca District, and to the Chairman to sue for unpaid' rates, in No. 25 Road District. Resolved —“ That a list of defaulters be 1 posted up at the Court House, Carlyle." Proposed by Mr Hunter, seconded by Mr G. W. Gane. and carried—That seperatw tenders be calledfor openingup Hurst houseRoad, from the Toll Road to the Ball Road, and from Ball Road to Manutahi Road, Tenders to be receivable at nest meeting of the Board. Proposed by Mr GF. XV. ffaiw, seconded by Mr Hunter, and carried —“That the secretary request Mr G. W. Williams (District Surveyor) to lay off section through sandhill, on Paterson Road.”
