A VINDICATION.
TO THE EDITOR OF TUB TATEA MAIL. Sm, —J. see by your issue of the 23rd June in your telegram under the head of AVairoa, an assertion which reflects on myself. AVith your leave, I beg to deny that assertion must emphatically, as I am well aware that it was after mature deliberation that the electors and settlers came to the conclusion to confirm what they had already done at a former meeting and the venom evidently emanates from a disappointed man. AVith these few remarks, you will oblige by giving this a place in your valuable paper. I am, &c. . JAMES NICHOLSON. [Situated as wo are at some distance from AVairoa, wo arc compelled to depend upon correspondents for information of local importance, and if our informant in this instance has misled us, wc very much regret it.
