The Council adjourned in January, in order that the country members might return to their farms, amLeonseqncntly a wellfilled notice paper was left untouched. Among the many notices to bo brought forward, wo select the following by our members; and as they are of a very important natiu’e, we hope they will meet with the approval of Council: Mr McGiiim: to move—That a respectful address lie presented to his Honor the Hnporinteiulent, requesting that lie will he pleased, in connection with the other representatives of the Province, to represent strongly to the General Government the great desirability of commencing a section of the Waitara and Wanganui Railway in the Patea District. —That a respectful address he presented to his Honor the Superintendent, requesting him -to reserve eitos for the following religions denominations, in or convenient to the Ha went township : Wesleyan, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, and Roman Catholic Churches.—That a respectful address be presented to bis Honor the Superintendent, requesting him to .take such steps that will lead to the Cemetery, Hospital, and other reserves in the Patea District being vested in local trustees for local administration.
