MELBOURNE. May 13. The National Agricultural Society are attempting to prevent the importation of sheep from Tasmania, having found the extent of scab there. King Siam is stated to have contributed a valuable collection to the Melbourne Exhibition. A large and influential meeting was held 4 on the 11th in favour of the annexation of New Guinea by the Imperial' Government, The Queensland Government proposes to raise a Joan of a million and a half for railways and public works.
