SHEEP DOG NOTES.
OTACO ASSOCIATION FORMED. A meeting convened for the purpose of forming a representative South Island Association was held in the board room of the Otago Employers’ Federation on June 12. There was a good attendance, and Mr John Anderson, Kurow, was voted to the chair. The secretary of the South Island Association (Mr Kennedy) was asked to explain what his association had done up to date. This he did, and asked if it would be possible to get delegates from Otago and Southland to meet the Canterbury and Marlborough delegates at Timaru on October 28.
After general discussion it was found necessary to form an Otago Provincial Association, to appoint delegates, and attend to other business in connection with South Island Association matters. There having been associations formed in other provinces, this was done, and the following office-bearers were elected: — President. Mr John Anderson (Kurow) : vice-presidents, Messrs George Ross and W. Aubrey: secretary, Mr J. W. M'Lean. An Executive Committee was also appointed. The secretary was instructed to write to all the Otago Collie Clubs soliciting their support and pointing out the desirability of a fully representative South Island Association.
