GENERAL ORDER ISSUED. REDUCTION OF 10 PER CENT. The Arbitration Court has issued a general order for the reduction of all award wages by 10 per cent. Apart from certain minor exemptions, the order makes no distinction between high and low rates of remuneration. In the case of workers who are paid on a monthly basis it will operate from June 1 and in all other cases from June 8. It is a majority decision of the Court, his Honor’s finding and the reasons on which it is based being concurred in by Mr W. Cecil Prime, the employers’ representative, while the workers’ representative, Mr A. L. Monteith, records a dissenting opinion.
