MEAT PRODUCERS’ BOARD.
SMITHFIELD PRICES. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable trom its London office, dated Mav 29, advising that the following are the approximate averase prices realised tor the week, based on actual transactions of wholesale quantities of the descriptions ot meat mentioned, and are for representati\e pareels of the goods offering during the week, being for business done on the basis of delivered to Smithfield Market and/or ex London stores:— (Prices for tlie two previous weeks are also shown).
N.Z. Frozen Veal — — — Lamb Market continues very firm, with improved prices. Demand is improving, especially for second quality. Consumption satisfactory. Slutton Market: Wethers and ewes, market is steady at better prices, but higher prices inclined to check demand. Beef Market: There is no inquiry for frozen beef. N.Z. Porker Pigs: Demand is only poor owing to warm wether. N.Z. Baconer Pigs: Nominal prices. Continental bacon in over supply, selling low prices.
