An endurance record which will take some equalling was established by a boarder at Kamo Springs recently (reports the Northern Advocate). He swam 3} miles in the baths, and was in the water for 2j hours. The temperature at Kamo is always equable, but most swimmers prefer to rest after swimming several lengths on account of the light fumes, which are especially noticeable iu the rainy season. Under the will of Mr William Small, who died at Wellington recently, the Public Trustee is appointed executor and trustee. The will provides for the setting up of a fund of £2OO, the income of which is to be used for the yearly presentation of four prizes to two boys of the fifth form of the Wellington Boys’ College and two girls of the Wellington East Girls’ College, who display the strongest personality and character and the hjghest general proficiency.
