PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED.

The healthy and interesting reading matter in the Boys’ Own Paper (Messrs Gordon and Got ch) marks that magazine as one worthy of wide circulation in all places frequented by young people. Information given in the most appealing form, and stories inciting the reader to bravery, chivalry, and pluck compose its table of contents. It is illustrated from photographs and drawings, and is a very good publication.

“ The Adventures of a Game Warden ” —a serial dealing with 30 strenuous years spent in close touch with Nature amidst wild regions and wilder men—commences in the May number of the Wide World Magazine (Messrs Gordon and Gotch), and promises to make very interesting reading. “ Indians I Hav*> Known,” “ Pottering Through Portugal,” “ Opium Smugglers of Central Asia,” and “ Bali, the Wonder Isle,” are a few of the articles in a table of contents designed specially to make an appeal to men.

The pleasing illustrations and the firstclass reading matter in Nash’s Pall Mall Magazine (Mesrs Gordon and Gotch) make the publication a prime favourite with discriminating people. The April issue is particularly acceptable. Frances, Countess of Warwick, begins her “ Intimate Memoirs,” Sir Philip Gibbs and his son write two articles giving their views of each other, Mr J. B. Priestley writes on “ Are Authors Human Be-

ings?’; Harold T. Wilkins describes “ Criminal Hunting by Radioj” a Member of’ Parliament discusses “ Tom ” —Sir Oswald Mosley; and Mr A. Duff Cooper discourses on “ Those Despicable Foreigners.” The fiction is in the hands of such authors as Robert Hichens, George Preedy, Michael Arlen, Booth Tarkington, Sinclair Lewis, and other equally famous writers.
