“ It is not possible for a man to~ reach the end of his career without feeling some sort of pain,” declared Professor A. Wall, speaking at the Graduation Day ceremony, at Canterbury College. Professor Wall, who has occupied the chair of English at the college for many years, recently resigned. “ The end of everything has a certain amount of feeling,” he declared, “ and it is said that even the last bite of a ham sandwich has its pathos.” Like a man who had reached the top of a climb, he was waiting for the journey downhill, and hoped to face it with a stout heart and good courage.
