TWO UNDESIRABLES

SUBSTANTIAL FINES IMPOSED. «mi .i AUCKLAND, May 30. they are dangerous men. and we have information they were going to ‘welsh* and clear off back to Australia.” said Detective Sergeant Kelly, when Clifford Spencer Dalilm, aged 36, with many aliases, and Reginald Clarence Williams, appeared m the Police Court charged with using their premises as a common gamins house. The detective sergeant added that it was apparent that the men were out to take down the public. Both had a criminal record in Australia. The magistrate (Mr F. K. Hunt) fined each man £75, or three months’ imprisonment. The accused both denied that they intended “welshing,” and the magistrate admitted that there was no direct evidence'' of that. He allowed them till Tuesday to pay.
