COUNTRY SALES.
Messrs Stronach, Morris, and Co. report having held their monthly sale at Waikouaiti on Thursday, when there was a email entry of cattle forward. Bidding ■was spirited for all entered. Dairy cows brought up to £4 10s; steers to £5, store cows and heifers from £1 5s to £2 10s. Messrs Staronach, Morrie, and Co also report having" held their Evansdale stock sale on t<he 10th inst., when there were a good number of cattle forward and a fair attendance of buyers. Heifers and dairy cows brouiffht trp to £5 15e, steers to £3 15e, yearling- steers to £2 17s 6d, store cows to £2 5s Messrs Todd Bros, and Co., Ltd., report the following sales:— On account of Mr Donald M'Gregor, Popotunoa, his farm of '247 acres of good agricultural landv to Mr William Henry Shearing, of Crookston. On account of Mr George Towns, Ettrick, his first class agricultural farm of 151 acres, to Mr Edward Tubman, of Roxburgh. On account of Mr George Cockburn, his farm of 237 acres, together with stock thereon, to Mr David Walker, of Miller's Flat. All the above at satisfactory prices. Considering the time of the year there was a fair entry at the Heriot yards last Friday. We sold: On account of M>r George Love, 150 failing-mouth ewes a£ 4s 6d to 6s lOd; 160 two-tooth ewe 3at 15s 6d; 50 lambs at 6s. On account of Mrs Beresford, 14 wethers at 13s Id. On account of Mr Samuel Kirk, 106 lambs at 10s 3d; eight wethers at 12s. On account of Mr John Wilkins, 165 aged ewes at 3s 5d to 6s. On account of Mr Andrew Moncur, 10 aged ewes at 7s lid. On account of Mrs Clack, six pigs at 15s. On account of Messrs B. Throp and F. Ferguson, three horses at current rates.
