SOUTH CANTERBURY MARKET REPORT. (From Own. Own Cohrespondent.) WAIMATE, Septembei 14. Wheat. — The market is in much the same state as last week. Millers are dhowing more inclination to buy, but there are no eellurs at thejr prices. Values acre, nominally : Velvet, 4s 4d ; Tuscan and Hunters. '4s 3d (on trucks at country stations, sacks sid). Oats. — The ma-rket is weak, values bavin-g ideclin-ed. Quotations: G-arfons, Is s£-d : duns, Is Agd ; Danish, Is 3£d (on trucks Country stations, sacks s£d). Potatoes. — The potato market has also •declined, and 65s to 67s 6d (f.0.b., sacks in) is about the best price obtainable for Up-to-Dates, table Derwents being about 10s a ton higher. Seed lines have no sale, and there is very little inquiry. Large quantities of table potatoes ere being shipped, and as the season i 6 well advanced the prospects do not look very bright for higher prices.
