LONDON PORT DUES
LONDON, September 8. The Port of London authority has prepared a draft schedule of a new maximum of port dues, which are estimated to yield £70,000. Twenty-five kinds of corn and grain are enumerated, and the duts range from 6d to Is per ton, coal 6d, meat 2s, cheese Is 6d, and wool Is 6d a" ton* wine Is per 100 gallons. The schedule, which runs info 50 close* printed sheets, will be submitted to the* consideration of merchants before it is ratified. The merchants are endeavour^ ing to secure a reduction in the dues ' and a simpler classification. Th 4 schedule applied to imports and* Sxport^ but transhipment goods are exempted;,
