" Ornithologist " and other lovers of our avi-fauna will be happy 'to hear that, according to the Education Gazette and Teachers' Aid, 'it is proposed in. Victoria to have a "Bird Day" in, October, &nd i teachers and pupils are asked io keep close watch and get notes ready for that day. Ornithologists have promised to give all assistance possible-. Not , only that, but a coarse of 12 lectures, delivered by Mr Dudley Le Souef, C.M.Z.S., and illustrated by lantern slides from Nature, is to be given j on ornithology as one of the series of 10 university extension lectures. The series, too, is given under the aaspicea of tbe ,j Australasian Ornithologists* Unirfn and the Bird Observers^ Clab.
