FLAG SWAMP SHOOTING MATCHES.

The Flag Swamp Defenoe Rifie Club held its annual social and presentation of prizes in the Goodwood Hall on the Ist instant, when Captain Cameron presided, and a large number of people were present. The following contributed songs during the evening: — Mr D. M'Gregor, Riflemen A. M'Faren and R. Peattie, and Mr Glover; Miss Sloan played a piano solo. Mr E. H. Clark, M.P., presented the prizes, and in the course of his remarks gave the young men some eound advice on Volunteering and discipline. The following are tho prize-winners : — • Six antl seven hundred yards— Rifleman O. Dempsey 1 (and al*o first in the aggregate), Rifleman A. M'Faren 2, Rifleman John Argue 3. Three and five hundred yards— Rifleman .7. Hepburn 1, Rifleman Jos. Argue 2, Captain Cameron 3. Two and five hundred yards— Rifleman D. M'Donald 1. Rifleman C. . M'Laren 2, Rifleman J. Maxwell 3. Other pnzetakors: Riflemen A. Cameron, sen., J Gilmore, Maxwell, sen., W. M'Gregor Ladies Match (with miniature rifle)— Hiss Dempsey 1, Mies J. M'Gregor 2, Mrs Cameron 3, Miss M'Laren 4.
