j In the House of Representatives Mr Johnson moved that, in order to encour« age settlement at Papua, a rebate of duty; ' «hoold be given on all bona fide Britishj grown island produce. He declared tha* j French influence was rapidly extending in the New ■Hebrides, and it was desirable to counteract it. i The debate was adjourned.
