MR WEBSTER'S CLAIM
. .» OTTAWA, September 2. Mr Bryce (the British Ambassador at Washington) and Sir J. G. Ward conferred at Montreal regarding Mr Webster's claim against New Zealand. The Government at Washington has taken up Webster's claim for half a million, and negotiations are now 7 proceeding between London, Washington, and Wellington.
