WYNDHAM A.AND P. SOCIETY.

At the annual meeting of the Wyndhain ; A. and P. Society the president (Mr T. W. j Foster) pr€*idod. The annual report stated j j that the past year had been one of the most I successful the society has experienced financially, the funds being increased from £21 to £62 of cash surplus. This is mainly duo to the increase of members, which now stands at S4-, as against 63 for the previous year. Entries also increased from 355 to j 393, and provided good competition, in the j vo.rious classes. LJate money showed a slight falling-off. The horse parade was successful, 15 horses having entered. The report and balance sheet ware adopted. Office-bearers were elected as follows': — President, Mr Angus Campbell; vice-presi-dent, Mr C. Milne ; treasurer, Mr DA. Raymond; auditor, Mr B. Sutherland ; gene- | ral committee — all present (with power to add, and any names on last year's list who weTe willing to accept office) ; executive — office-bearer and Messrs A. Bell, T. W. Foster, A. Howe, P. Campbell, A. Beange, R. Shields, W. S. Irving, John Todd, R. G. Carson, and R. Arnott It was resolved to endeavour to hold the , show on the recreation ground, December j 1 being fixed as the date. | After discussing various minor questions, votes of thanks were passed to the retiring president and to the office-bearers generally. Special reference was mad© to the work of the secretary, treasurer, and auditor. Incidentally Mr Charles Milne advocated judging by points. If a man got his card filled in year after year, he would thereby get education as to his shortcomings in breeding. Mr Foster agreed that ( Mr Milne's suggestion was on right lines, ■ but doubted the competency of this small society to initiate the reform. If they , tied the judejes down to the points system, j it wa« doubtful if thsy could be got to take 011 the work.
