It is understood (says the Oamc.ru Mail) that as the result of the meeting of the New Zealand Flourmillers' Association, held at Christchuich on Wednesday, it was decided to continue the association for a. period of six months. This arrangement will practically cover the present grain season, and it "is thought that in the meantime satisfactory arrangements may bo made for thr future. A dividend at the rate of 6 per cent, per annum for the half-} ear ended July 30, 1909, has been declared by- the directors of the Dunedin and Kaikorai Tram Company, payable on September 8. At a meeting of the director of Kempthorne, Prosser, and Oo.'o New Zealand Drug Co., on the 27th ult. an interim dividend for the half-year, at the rate of 7 per cent, per annum, was declared, payable or September 20. CHRISTCHURCH, August 25 There was a fairly large eniry of «toek and a good attendance. Fat cattle sold well at the previous week's rate 3. Store sheep were dull cf sale. Fat sheep opened easier than last week, and new £&a son's lambs brought good prioes. Pigs sold well, but there was little demand for store catlly (rCQd dairy cows sold readily. The yarding of store Bhep was somewhaf lerger than last week, anil was piincipallsmade up of ewes, the balance being hoggets and a few pens of weth«rs. -There was not much demand, though, a good attendance of buyers vas present, and prices general'v showed a slight decline. Ewes were principally of inferior sorts, Only two or three peas being average.
