OTAGO RUGBY UNION
The weekly meeting of the Otag-o Rugby Union was held on Monday ; present — Messrs F. H. CamDball (chairman), H. Harris, H. F. SLncook, P. Priest, H. White, J King. V. Cavanagh, A. Lew. J. Duncan, D. Stua t, J. Dunne, G. Macdonald, and E. Memel. In reply to a letter from the O.R.F.U. asking whether a player taking part in organising the Northern Union game could be disqualified as a professional, the Secretary of the New Zealand Union advised that, in the opinion of the committee, a
player under such circumstances could be
dealt with under Rule 11 of the rules as to professionalism. — Received. In connection with the suspension of D. Butlc in connection with the ClydeAlexandra match, it was decided that the secretary write the Vincent County asking if Butler was the player su6i:ended in the Limerick-Coal Creek seven aside match in 1907. After a short discussion in committee it was decided to play rhe Combin<*l New Zealand Uni\ersities match against Sydney University at Carisbrook onySeptembor 4.
WELLINGTON" v. AUCKLAND. WELLINGTON. August 23. The following team will represent Wellington against Auckland, at Wellington, next Saturday : —Full back, J. Ryan;
1 three-quarters — Mitchinson, Walsh, Eveffson; five-eighths — M'Lecd and Roberts ; half back, Green; forwards — H. A very (wing), A. Bruce. J Tannerhill, "Rangi"' Wikon, A#C. Wilson, G. M'Kellar, Dennehy-, and W. Ready.* AUCKLAND, August 23. The Auckland touring team left by the Main Trunk express to-night. The members of the party are: — Backs — Renwick, Miller, .Wilson, Murray, O'Leary, M'Gregor, Magee, Baker, Morse, a.nd Webb; forwards — Walkes Herring, Mag-uire (City), Nicholson, Francis, Seeling, Waddell, Williams, Maguire (Graf ton). Cunningham, Hayward, 'and Sellars were unable to make the full tour, but may leave Auckland on Thursday, and take part in the Wellington match on Saturday.
