The following is a summary of Dunedin successes at the Invercargill Competitions, which concluded on Friday evening :—: — Miss Elsie Macdougall. — First, pianoforte solo (open) ; first (with Miss Dobie), pianoforte duet (open). Miss E. Mazengarb. — First, soprano solo ; second- mezzo-soprano solo ; second, Scotch song (ladies). . ■ - Mr V. Miss -Ivy- Mazengarb.' — First, humorous - recitation-; second, ladies' . . recitation. Shakespearian recitation (ladies), - and open recitation. Miss Nettie Bundle.— First, musical monologue ; second, humorous recitation. Miss- Ivy Mazengarb and Miss Nettie Bundle were also members of the A. S. Wallace party, which took finst place in the drawing-room entertainment competition — the first of its kind in New Zealand. On this particular evening th* large theatre was packed to the doors.
