WRECK OF THE MAORI
LONDON, August 17. • Official inquiry showed that the cause of the Maori disaster was an abnormal dnsct due to a heavy gale. The captain and officers were exonerated. THE CREW. WELLINGTON, August 17. The following is a list of those of the Maori's crew missing in the deck department : — Captain Nicole, Pearce, Rowlinson, Probyn, Lines, Corbin, Stych, Inch, Hart, Pope, Glad man, Bartlett, Lowry, Cox. Engine department — Calvert, Beak, Brady, Attridge, Fenvrick, Hooper, Gunn, Smith, Heighten, Goodwin, Wilson, Tos- | devin. Stewards— Hicks, Anderson, Add!son, Archer. Besides these, Refrigerating Engineer Hutchison and Greaser D. Hirs sre known to be drowned. '
