The jury returned a verdict that the master oi the Flora was responsible tor deceased's death in leaving Forester's Bay with too much cargo aboard and not throwing- more shingle overboard when he found that she was too deeply laden. A rider was added urging upon the Marine Department the importance of compelling all vessels of not more than five tons register to carry a load line, and tha necessity for more care in carrying out> the regulations with regard to the , lifesaving apparatus to be carried on vessels. [ The master of the Flora (Thomas Dowd) will have t> answer i charge of manslaughter.
