BURNS'S TOUR.
(Fbou Oub Own Cobbbspondent.) AUCKLAND, August 16.
Intimation has been received in Auckland from Tommy Burns that the treatment he is undergoing at Rotorua ie greatly benefiting 1 him. The ex-champion's ankle is now almost well, and he intends resuming his tour at Hamilton on Thursday night. Mean time Tom lieee, tihe ex-Australian, champion, whose challenge Burns has accepted, is training for the contest. He is going in for swimming' and sparring. So far the Northern Boxing Association has not been .approached by either side for a permit in connection with the proposed match, co that as to whether it will really eventuate "or not I am unable at present to say.Apropos of this subject, a rather funny advertisement appears in laige type in tonight's Star, as follows: — "Seeing where Lees is touted to meet Burns. Well, if Lees comes and> sees me, I wiU box him in private. No prize-fighting monopoly will Have anythingr to do with it. — Billy Murphy, exchampion boxer of the world." Then follows this postscript : " His weight makes no difference." Truly the veterans are asserting them&elves.
