MAORI TEAM IN QUEENSLAND.
SYDNEY, August 11. The Maori team defeated Queensland today by 36 points to 25. The visitors found Queensland more than a match for them in the first half, which ended: Queensland, 17 points; Maoris, 12. Asher, -who played brilliantly, had four unconverted tries to his credit. In the second half the play was tact and furious, Kuhtai, Haira, and Ratete obtained tries in quick succession, Asher converting the last two.
