INTERNATIONAL VOITURTTTE CAR RACE.
Particulars are to hand from France of . the Voiturette Cup, the only motor speed contest in the land of the Gauls this year. The event attracted a big entry. The power of the contesting cars was limited by cubic capacity of cylinders. Out of tlie 10 different makes of cars entered, 6ix makers pinned their faith to four-cylinder engines, the remainder, with the exception of one .win-cylnxler, being represented by 6ingle-cylinder care. As in previous years, the mono-cylinder car prevailed. The race was held around the 23i miles oirouit, ■which had to be covered 12 times, making the total distance 282 miles. The winner turned up in the crack Branch motorcyclist Guippone, who scored an easy win for Franoe on a single-cylinder LionPeugot; Gpux, on a twin-cyumder Peugot,
inished second, with Thomas (Le Gui) third. Th winner's time for the 282 miles was jhr 26min 29seo, equal to an average speed if over 50 -miles an hour. A 12-14 Ca.lrhorpe English-made oar carried off the special prize awarded for regularity. The ■ace was carried out without serious aoeiient.
