RACING IN NEW ZEALAND.

GRAND NATIONAL MEETING. Second Day— Thtjbsday, August* 12. The New Zealand Grand National meeting was continued to-day in fine but cold -weather. The attendance was again large, including Lord Plunket and his party, and the Hon. J. A. Millar. The contest for the Grand National Hurdle Race produced a fin© exhibition of jumping by most of the field. Speculation was again brisk, the iotalisator ' investments amounting to £19,848, as against £19,239 last year, while bookmakers were present in strong force. As on the first day there were several spills, but in only one case did a rider receive injury, J.
