AERIAL NAVIGATION.

M. Spelterini's balloon Sirius crossed Mont Blanc Range from Chamounix. and descended near Locarno. It travelled 100 miles at a height of over 18.000 ft and a temperature 58deg below zero. It was a day and a'-half. in the air. 1 ■ August 12.
Mr S. E. Cody made three 'flights at Afderehot in an aeroplane of new design. One of them was a mile and a-half at a speed of 30 miles an hour. The motor and steering apparatus work well. August 14.
Mr E. S. Cody travelled four miles in six minutes at Aldershot. After covering the plain with figure B's, he continued to Farnboroug-h, stopping at the camp
near London of the Balloon Company of the Territorial Engineers. He then restarted on his return to the shed, bringing the machine to a dead stop at the doors. He received an ovation. August 16. Mr Cody, with Colonel Capper as a fellow passenger, covered a distance of a mite and a-half by aeroplane.
