There are indications that the backbone of .the Swedish strike, is broken. Work is • being gradually resumed in various directions. '

There are 285,762 strikers in Sweden out of. a total of, 1,460,000, exclusive of 1000 agricultural labourers who refused to join. " *
The sinkers apparently are losing heart. The. strike is peacefully conducted, and the police have lees work than usual. Many manufacturers are working off their large stocks. L6NDON, August 11.
The Board of Trade has warned British workman against proceeding to Sweden as strike-breakers.
