OTAGO FARMERS' HORSE BAZAAR.
The Otago Farmers' Co-operative Association, reports: -A-t our -w««kl,Y liorse ea-le <m Saturday last wo had a £ood attendance of farmers, contractors, and the principal town carriers. We hail a good entry of tuaful farm horses from four to cix years old, with a small proportion of aged horses. Our best entries came from Otago Central, Milton, and rhe Taieri. We sold a. number of useful draughts for ploughing. Buyers for this cla=a were present from several country district", and bid keenly for horse? suitable for their requirements Heavy draughts were not so well represented;, although the inquiry for this stamp and active expressers was good Now that the winter is past, hackneys and light harness horses meet with better competition, and the demand remains good. Next Saturday, 21ft inst., we are offering a special consignment of Clydesdale horses from. Souibiaoui,
as well as a choice lot of station' draughts from Otago Central. We quote : Good Clydesdale mares, suitable for 6tud purposes and general farm work, £40 to £67; good useful draught mare and geldings, young and sound, from £35 to JG44 ; ordinary farm draughts, £28 to £35: Jighter and older, £20 to £28; heavy lorry geldings, from ,£4O to £55; spring-carters, suitable for town and hill work, £20 to £30; upstanding buggy mares and geldings from £16 to £25; hackneys, from £10 to £15; lighter sorts, from £6 to £10.
