DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.

Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows: — As we anticipated, the entries for last Saturday's sale were not numerous, and business was .practically at a standstill, the principal reason being that both buyers and sellers prefer waiting for our annual spring sale, which takes place on Thursday, rhe 19th inst. There is, however, a good demand for active young draught mares and geldings, also for uperanding spring vanners and young carters, if sound and reliable We have numerous inquiries for tip-top, heavy geldings, and could place a large number at full market rates. Now that the good weather has come farmers are on the look-out for horses to make up their teams, and the prospects for our sale on Thursday are very bright indeed. Wo quote: Superior youngdraught geldinfes, at from £40 to £M 5; extra good ditto (prize-winners), at from £45 to £50 ; superior young <J r augfit maree, at from £50 to £60; medium draught mare? and geldings, at from £30 to £40; aged, at from £10 to £15; strong springvan horses, at from £25 to £30; strong bpnnjr-carters. at from £18 to £25; milkcart and butchers' order-cart horses, at from £15 to £25 ; light hacks, at from £8 to £13 ; extra good hacks and harness horses, at from £13 to £25; weedy and aged, at from £5 to £7
