In connection with the M'Lean Institute, established under the will of Mr Allan M'Lean, to provide a home for destitute gentlewomen, the annual statement of receipts and expenditure shows that on general account the receipts for the year totalled £7992 11s lid and the expenditure £7692 12s lid, leaving a credit balance of £309 19s.
