While exercising, quite loose clotliingsliould be worn, so that each muscle may move freely. # . The first exercise with the elastic is to tench the lungs to breathe deeply. Hold the elastic over the head with arms stretched up, then stretch them outward as far as the elastic will reach, first inhaling, and then exhaling, a long, deep breath. This exercise does much towards lengthening the waist. The second exercise will help to expand the chest. Stretch the band across the chest with arms extended outward. Take a long breath and bend the arms slowly backward while inhaling, then bring the arms back to the first position, taking a new breath. To remedy stooping fhoulders the following exercise is splendid : Extend the elastic across the shoulders at the back and stretch the arms as far back as possible. Repeat several times. Then, holding one end of the elastic at the left side, let it cross the back diagonally to the ' right hand extended upward. The exercise consists in bringing the right hand back to the shoulder, then stretching it s-traight up. Repeat about five times, then change the position of hands. Always stand "before an. open window while doing these exercises in order to obtain the meet satisfactory results.
