ARBITRATION COURT. COAL MINERS' AWARD.
AUCKLAND, July 27. The provisions of the award of the Arbitration Court in the Kiripaka colliery dispute aa-e the same in most le&pects as those in the previous award. The union asked to have the hewing rate increased considerably, but" tlw? court did not feal justified in- giving mere than the rates offered by the company, which were based! on the previous award. Shift wages, however, have been increased to 10s per "shift. The company is to do the trucking, or -may arrange with the miner to tru<k his own coal up to 40 yards for toi, leas than 2d per ton. The pillar rate remains at 2s per ton. if by expenmcet it is found to be too hi eh, the company will be justified in applying for a reduction.
