j . , A Wellington telegram states that dui*ing last month 3662 bales of hemp were graded in the various ports of the Dominion — 1000 more than in July of last year. The directors of the Silverton Tramway Company have declared a •dividend of Is per share and a bonus of Is per share, payable on and after September 8 at the ■ Union Panic of Australia, Dune-din. Central Labour Exchange, Arcade, Duntdin, reports that during the last fortnight the labour market has been brighter, a number of ploughmen and farm hands being required. The ruling wages are : Ploughmen, 255, 27s 6d ; milkers, 2C6, 22s 6d; couples, £85 to £90; cooks, 255, 30s; rou-seabouts, 20s ; labourers, 7s to Bs.
