GIFT OF £350,000

LONDON, August 9. The trustees in the estate of the late Mr Harry Barnato have applied £250,000 for the building and endowment of an institution for the reception of cancer patients, with laboratories, the whole to be under the management of the MiddleBex Hospital. With the exception of Lord Iveagh's gift for establishing the Lister Institute Mr Barnato's gift is the most notable ever made for the assistance of scientific research.
