A SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY
LONDON, March 6. Professor Kamerlingh Ohnes, of Leyden, has informed Professor Dewar that he has converted helium into a solid. Helium, which is a chemical element, was first discovered in the sun because of certain lines in the solar spectrum, but it has since been from certain terrestrial minerals. It was isolated by Sir William Ramsay in 1895.
